Robert Andrew Kovach began his design career over ten years ago as a professional scenic designer.  He received his MFA degree in scenic design from Purdue University, where he had the opportunity to work along side Mr. Van Phillips of Jones & Phillips Associates, Inc, a Theatrical Consulate & Architectural Lighting Firm.  Robert moved to Chicago in 1999 to work as a Production Designer and Art Director for Chicago Scenic Studios(CSS), along side Robert Doepel & Thomas Ryan.

His seven year tenure at Chicago Scenic Studios, allowed him to design in multiple venues from tradeshows and exhibits to industrials and theatre.  Robert has spear headed and collaborated on small to large scale projects from a production designer to art director; theatre designer to production manager.  He had the opportunity to experience various projects, from $50k children museum and theatre designs to several million dollar projects, such as “Oprah Winfrey Show”, Democratic Conventions 2000 & 2004, and MTV’s Real World.

Robert moved to
New York City and has designed the U.S. Touring Production of “Carmen” and for numerous theatres across America, as well as co-productions and transferring shows between theatres.  Robert has designed for the Walnut Street Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, among others, as well as corporate designs for Cadillac, ConAgra Foods, and Museums.  He has had the privilege to collaborate creatively with numerous directors, producers, designers, and trade unions as a skillful team to create an intriguingly unique environment for corporate presentations and for an actor to develop a character.
